Description
A new third edition of Fr O’Flynn’s reflections on the Sunday Gospels of Year C (the year of Luke) of the Roman Lectionary. For each Sunday of the Cycle, Fr O’Flynn gives the ext of the gospel reading, a short introductory note which puts the reading in its liturgical or scriptural context, and he sumarises the Good News of the reading in a sentence or two. He then gives two reflections on each reading, the first normally being a commentary on the text and the second being more reflective and imaginative, relating the reading to the world of today. This series has been used not only by homilists but also by groups who come together for prayer or discussion. Fr O’Flynn’s lively readable style makes the best insights of modern scholarship accessible to those who have not had time for serious study.
Silvester O’Flynn, Capuchin, is an experienced retreat preacher and spiritual director. He is presently director of retreats at Ard Mhuire, Creeslough.
